Each week Alan would invite guests to talk about various subjects including 'life after death' which inspired me to investigate the subject.

In 2000 I was very fortunate to sit in Colin Fry's Friday Group. About 10 to 15 people would turn up each week to speak to Colin’s principal trance control Magnus who would invite us all to ask questions on any subject. I learned a lot during the two years I sat in the group both from asking my own questions and from listening to the answers given to others.
Before joining the Mercury Circle I sat in another physical circle in Eastbourne. Here I ask Magnus about one of the sitters who was developing trance…
In February 2001 I had an interesting dream where I met Magnus so I had to ask if it was indeed him and what it was he did to me. I also had a question about time and space…
By June I was seeing pin-prick lights while reading books so that was my next question to Magnus…

Sometimes Magnus would stand aside to allow other communicators to speak with us and in September Joan found herself talking to Maurice Chevalier about seeing Freddie’s reaction to us singing ‘Old McDonald had a Farm’ in the circle that week 19/09/2001 …it was a surreal moment!!!
Joan was feeling a bit long in the tooth this week and asks if her mediumship will continue after she passes…

After reassuring Joan that her cat has settled down in spirit Magnus then explains why she felt like she had shoes on that were too small for her in the cabinet…
FRIDAY GROUP 9
On Friday 2nd March 2001 Colin decided we wouldn't have the usual trance evening but to sit for independent voice in the dark. None of us were complaining as this is a very rare form of mediumship where the medium remains awake and is able to talk to the communicators who use an independent voice box.
Charlie came through first followed by Magnus and they both answered some interesting questions about the mechanics of independent voice...

As well as the Friday group I was a regular at Colin’s monthly physical séances.
They were held in full blackout conditions and Colin was secured to his chair with cable ties on his wrists and ankles. He sat in a curtained off cabinet in the corner of the room until the seance ended when we would hear a loud thump as Colin and his chair were levitated and dropped into the centre of the room fortunately never landing on anybody's feet or the recording microphone.
About 15-20 sitters attended and each seance started with lively singing until the first communicator was heard. This would usually be Charlie who would tell us to shut up as our singing was awful.
The communicators consisted of the regular team Charlie, Dolly and Magnus and there would also be various well know personalities including actors, comedians, mediums, etc but the most evidential were the personal communicators and the atmosphere would become very emotional when sitters were reunited with friends, family and loved ones.
Some communicators just spoke whereas others came out into the room to touch the sitters. I had many a hand shake or tap on the head and felt solid hands both from adults and children.
English comedian Peter Cook came through on the 5th July 2001. He had communicated before at Colin's seances but this was the first time I'd heard him and I just had to ask if they had a 'Frog & Peach' on his side of life?

You never knew who would pop in to Colin's seances. On the 14th Feb 2002 someone came through who told us he was the headmaster at the school in New England Road, Haywards Heath, the same road where the seance was being held. He said this was from 1940-1969 and his name was Mr Chalk...

Leslie Flint often came through at Colin's seances and this recording is from the 8th Aug 2002. Colin had just got home after a stressful day in London and this
affected the available energies for the seance that evening. Leslie commented on the energies being
peculiar and that the voice box wasn't stable and you can hear how the sound of
his voice changes at times during the communication...
'Do you know what I miss of your world? I miss a quiet day
sitting under a tree, drinking a little orange juice, watching the children
play, white children, black children, brown children... Hindu, Muslim and Jew,
playing as little children... That is what I miss, I want all of my children to
play together...'

A grandfather came through to speak to his granddaughter on the 31st July 2002. It was a very hot evening and we had an air conditioner
going which spoils the recording a bit but it's an interesting and amusing
communication with some evidence for the sitter...

entertainment industry; more films were now coming out with spiritual themes.
She was followed by a writer who just gave his name as Mr Eliot to tell us the
same thing was happening with books. Well known communicators didn’t always get
things right and Bette does make a couple of mistakes when talking about her
life on Earth…
